VANOC is now accepting applications to volunteer at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games!
As part of the two-year countdown to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games officially launched their volunteer recruitment process. VANOC, in partnership with Workopolis, is looking for approximately 25,000 volunteers who are available before, during and after the 2010 Winter Games. The online application process will remain open for a minimum of six weeks and members of the general public are encouraged to apply.

| Space to Place: The Next Rural Economies Workshop - Prince George |

The Community Development Institute at the University of Northern BC (UNBC) and the Enterprise Program at Simon Fraser University (SFU) are co-hosting “Space to Place: The Next Rural Economies Workshop” to be held in Prince George from May 14-17, 2008.
The workshop brings together twenty-three rural and small town scholars from eight OECD countries to discuss possibilities about what our next rural economies will look like.

BC150 Years Rivermania, celebrating the culture and Peoples of the Fraser River and its Peoples The Rivermania flotilla of boats will depart Prince George on August 24 and begin the journey down the Fraser River to its end to arrive in Steveston (Richmond) on September 28, 2008.
